last week we went to visit the defence works at Kornwerderzand, part of the "afsluitdijk" in the northern part of Holland .... build in the '30's connects the provence Friesland with North Holland, and closed the Zuiderzee, a 32 km long dike ... the defence works prevented any enemy to enter Holland by this dike ...later more about the defence works ... our first stop was at the monument where the dike was closed in 1932 !
the monument also has a restaurant ... i did this dike once by foot !!

we did this a few years ago bella ...and a few km's more to get to the camping !!
