Stellenbosch was founded by a Dutch VOC officer in 1680 named vd Stel ... original named " Stels Bosch" ... many nice old buildings there ...one of them is the "Kruithuis" .. "powder storage" ..perfect restaured ..i gouldnt take a good picture of it ..someone parked a tourbus in front of it !! :-(
