Yes Hans. I have Marfan Syndrome, I have had to have both hips replaced since September and a cataract op too - I am only 55 too lol. I have walking problems. But you know I am very lucky. Some children with this condition have a very limited out look. And I live in a country where we do not have to pay for health care (at the moment) and I have a lot of specialist help. Unlike people in much poorer countries. And I am now entitled to free medication. Things could have been so much worse. But I am very grateful for having been able to have my children (and have not passed on the defective gene!) and to have had a very active life up untill a few years ago. I count my blessings.
No not sad Hans. I have found a lot of friends through my condition and through one of them found this site (Jamesrb). I have made a lot of wonderful friends here. So I am much happier and loving taking my photos. I can still get out and about - I am just very slow and need to stop often. But hey I am still getting out!!!! I am working my way through your up loads little by little :-))
well maybe its all ment to be ... i see it with my doughter in hospital now ....she have met great people there already ...maybe its good for her future !!!
and while taking pictures you dont want to walk fast !!! :-))
I am a great beleiver that these things happen for a reason. Finding out I had Marfans a couple of years ago (went the rest of my life without knowing!!) was the best thing to happen to me. It has enhanced my life no end. Your daughter will find such kindness from people during her recovery. And probably make lifelong friends too. It is just such a shame she had the accident in the first place.
