we went to fort Asperen build in 1845 - 1847 ... to protect the waterworks in the river the " Linge" near Leerdam, this is a so called Tower fort ... was also made stronger in the '30's with modern shelters !
1/8 not easy to make foto's without people on it ! ... was very crowded that day ...the weather was fantastic for visiting forts ..so we where not the only ones !!

Very nice series! This summer we made a bicycle trip along the Linge and passed this fortress, but did not visited it. I now see that we should have stopped!
