The concentration camp Dachau was surrounded by electrified barbwire a ditch and canal ... and 5 guard towers ...i tried to captured the athmosphere as good as possible !
A couple of weeks ago, I rented "The Pawnbroker," a movie directed by Sidney Lumet. I first saw this movie quite a long time ago and since Lumet died recently I've wanted to reacquaint myself with his work.
"The Pawnbroker" was the story of a Jewish man who was sent to a concentration camp during World War II and who settled in New York City after the liberation. The movie features a number of flashbacks from his stay in the camp, which were intercut within the scenes of the contemporary story (circa 1963).
This photograph reminds me of the horrifying scene where an inmate is trying to climb a fence like this, screaming "Get me out of here, get me out of here!" You know that it's hopeless ...
