One of the World War II bunkers used to protect San Diego shores from possible enemies. I believe that a couple of them are still in use today by the Coast Guard and Homeland Security.

Unique view, excellent photo!
This bunker is so much different from the bunkers the Germans built in WW2 along the North Sea in the Netherlands. Most of them are now removed.

Thanks, Senna. These were preserved as a way of showing the history of San Diego. I'm glad they didn't remove them, as they are wondrous. They are positioned perfectly to watch over the ocean and shores. Nowadays, they have underwater remotes to watch the bay, etc. It's all hidden so that tourists and locals can enjoy the water without interference by the homeland security.
