Thanks Midworlder - this is the kind of shot where you have to be there at the right time - we always stay in Windermere in December - I got up early, went for a walk and then went for a swim (in the hotel pool) all before breakfast!

Yes you've got the wrong district (lol) - The Lake District is in the North of England in Cumbria and Boughton-on-the-Water is a lovely little place in the Cotswolds (not too far away from Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon. You should have a wonderful time.

Ahhh yeah .. i thought I might be wrong after I said it ... I remember know that Windermere was mentioned as a nice stop off between Manchester (Stuboy) and Scotland
