They use less power than tube lights and energy efficient bulbs!!
However they are only good for ambient light.Background light etc.....

Over the last 5 years they have become cost effective and can be used for background lighting around the livingroom etc....

Keep an eye on these lights because in a few years we will really see them take off!! Higher power LEDs will drop in price and are far better for using as lights around the home. Be it in kitchen cabinets and things like that.
