Ok, this site is been live 2 (count 'em!) days now.

I'd be interested in getting feedback on what people think so far, any problems you've found, and what features are most important to you.

You can either leave a comment here, or use the 'Contact Us' link on the left there. Although in reality, 'Us' is just me. But 'Contact Me' didn't have quite the same ring to it.

well, i'm the new guy here and i LIKE! To be honest, i'm going pretty full steam with Flickr because i like the tags and some other features, but i'm going to keep my eye on (and photos in) this place. My random thoughts are:

* i like the cleanliness of the place. It's straightforward.
* it took me a few times to find out where to upload pix, but now i think i'm used to it.
* i'd like to see (now that i've seen it in Flickr) a list of photos that have new messages. In a day i've loaded 10 (actually 11, heh heh) and if someone went thru my stuff and commented i'd probably never know (but would like to).
* i am anxious to see how groups are implemented (and am offering to help with the idea base for that - i don't know php to do any programming unfortunately) I was involved in the Fotolog group metagroup.
* I'd like to know what you thought were things to AVOID that you mentioned in Flickr.
* I'd like to see a mass uploader (for 10, you know).
* Some more profile options... as you see fit.

I gotta say Dom you're off to a GREAT start! And even though i'm talking about improvements on the lines of Flickr, i think maybe the niche here is to keep it simple... i know a lot of Fotologgers are a little bit overwhelmed with option with Flickr and liked the easy and simple way Fotolog worked (when it did). Keep up the good work and i'll be watching!

an 'edit' as well as a 'delete' function here would be nice too. I see where i could've written something better, eh?

the 500k limit seems a bit harsh to me, even if that's all you show. A nice feature of fotolog was allowing the upload and resizing, which may not have done it as well as I would but did mean I didn't have to save two versions :)

As per zen, where to upload could be more obvious and would definitely like some sort of NEW marker that I have new comments.

not sure about editable comments tbh ... as long as you can edit captions, the temptation to post one thing then amend it to say another might be too high for some?

Signup should have "repeat password". The 'type carefully' comment isn't the same :)

The date the photo was posted would be helpful too... especially when the caption says "Ok, this site is been live 2 (count 'em!) days now." :)

I'd add a "upload new photo" link or something similar to the menu on the left. It's easier to find when you are thinking "upload" rather than "edit my photos".

You've probably already got the rest of common ideas for a blogging community, so will wait for them to appear before commenting constructively :)

If you are looking for coders, just shout.

oh yeah - the "login to post a comment" message should be a link to the login page that returns you to the photo after logging in.

Minor nit. Might be nice if the Member database only showed users who had uploaded at least one photo. That'll hide all those who signed up just so they could post comments on their kid's Fotothings.

How about an option to list members by geographic location. So that we get to see the photos of that area. I assume people take pics around their homes!
