Nice images, cranes are such iconic birds, I once read this book: THE BIRDS OF HEAVEN: TRAVELS WITH CRANES, Author: Peter Matthiessen. It's the story of the World's crane species and the fact that so many of them are in danger.

Apart from the common crane (grus grus) the only wild species I have seen is the siberian crane (grus leucogeranus) which winters at Bharatpur in India.

You whre luckky, I only have seen Common crane..... but many of then!
Thousends on theire flight to the sleeping spot!
