Wonderful series, Loek! But then you do have lots of windmills in the Netherlands..........
This one really caught my eye because it looks as though the road goes round it. In England we'd call this a traffic roundabout, and I visited a windmill on a roundabout just a few weeks ago. It's in York and it's described as unique. It's become quite famous since we saw it, with radio and television appearances because it's been voted the best roundabout!
It's not realy a roundabout. The road at the right became to narrow for the traffic, that's why thy made a new road at the leftside for more security and boath are one-way!
I'll thank you for the link to the Holgate mill. The photo reportage of the restauration was grerat.
And yes we have a lot of wind- end watermills in the Netherlands about 1100 all together.
