Visiting the Landis Arboretum --- #8 of 10
Esperance, New York
Wednesday, October 6, 2010
The Landis Arboretum is located on the site of a 19th Century farm, the home of Fred Lape, who founded the Arboretum. He established the arboretum in 1951 and it was incorporated ten years later as a memorial to George Landis, a colleague who collaborated in making the plantings.
There were several pieces of art on display at the arboretum, including this sculpture by Samuel E. He works in steel, aluminum, copper, and brass, and I'll show you three pieces from his series of nine.
