Visiting the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, Washington --- #7 of 10
Sunday, July 18, 2010
We ended our day by heading back to Seattle for a visit to the Olympic Sculpture Park. This was a former industrial site, and it became part of a brownfield development project. The park features a salmon habitat with native plantings, public gardens, and there are public artworks throughout the park.
What's on display in the park gets changed regularly. There are 20 monumental pieces that are always on display, including the pieces that I've shown you earlier in this series. Others are added and moved as time goes by, so as to keep things fresh for the regular visitors to the park.
This is one of three "Hanging Figures" by Jessica Jackson Hutchins. They were installed in the park earlier this year, and feature ceramics, found macrame, and old clothing.
