Visiting the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, Washington --- #2 of 10
Sunday, July 18, 2010
We ended our day by heading back to Seattle for a visit to the Olympic Sculpture Park. This was a former industrial site, and it became part of a brownfield development project. The park features a salmon habitat with native plantings, public gardens, and there are public artworks throughout the park.
This bold red piece is "Eagle" by Alexander Calder, one of my favorite sculptors. It's a late work, dating from 1971.
