Visiting the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, Washington --- #3 of 10
Sunday, July 18, 2010
We ended our day by heading back to Seattle for a visit to the Olympic Sculpture Park. This was a former industrial site, and it became part of a brownfield development project. The park features a salmon habitat with native plantings, public gardens, and there are public artworks throughout the park.
This is "Persephone Unbound" by Beverly Pepper. This stone sculpture from 1999 is the first of two works by this artist that I'll be sharing with all of you. I like the way that it's rising from among the greenery.
