visiting Glenwood Springs, Colorado
November 5-6, 2010
During a visit, we took the short hike up to the Linwood Cemetery, the oldest cemetery in town. It's also known as the Pioneer Cemetery, and you can get a sense of what the local pioneers experienced as they settled the area.
According to the cemetery's tourist information, the most infamous resident in Glenwood Springs was John H. "Doc" Holliday.
Holliday was originally from Georgia and was trained as a dentist in Pennsylvania. He headed West in 1873.
He was also a gambler and gunfighter. He was a friend of Wyatt Earp and was involved in the gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
