After I read these words, I thought about my own ancestors who came to this country. Not all of them came to escape religious persecution, but quite a few of them did. They were Italian and Spanish Jews, British Puritans, French Protestants, and Mormons from Ireland, Great Britain, Australia, and Denmark.

We can do better, though, even in my country. We've still got a ways to go,
