A few years ago, the city decided to create a park to preserve some of the beautiful homes in downtown Oakland. Some of these houses were here already, and others were moved from nearby neighborhoods.
Each of the homes has a sign in front with details of the architectural style of the home and when it was built. The houses range in age from the 1880s Victorians -- like this beauty -- to a 1911 Craftman.
The houses have been rented out to non-profit organizations, school groups, and historical societies. I think it would be fun to work in one of them! | |
