The Albany Bulb used to be a dumping spot for construction detritus. After the dumping was halted in 1984, some of the local citizens found other uses for the land.
In addition to being an outdoor art gallery, The Bulb is also a bird sanctuary, and portions of it have been set aside as protected spaces for burrowing owls and other species.
This egret has found a good place to dine ... while I was watching, it caught several tasty morsels. | |
