If you're interested in submarines, you can go aboard and explore the U.S.S. Pampanito, which saw service during World War II. There are some special programs for children, including overnight visits.

Definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in historic vessels: Pier 45 and also the Hyde Street Pier, which is nearby.
