Earlier this summer, I posted some photos from the UC Berkeley Victory garden. This is a project that was started last spring by a student group.

I think that this is a nice example of "companion planting" --- the flowers and vegetables are planted together to provide benefits to each other. It's certainly a beautiful raised bed!

The students posted a notice recently inviting anyone who is interested to come by and do some weeding. It's also OK to pick anything that looks ready for harvest. I don't plan to do that very often because I think that the students who planted the garden should enjoy their harvest. However, I may nab a tomato or two ...
