From Wikipedia: "The park includes sixteen historic buildings, five of which stand in their original location, and eleven of which were moved from elsewhere in Oakland to avoid demolition. The sixteen houses are arranged to resemble a late 19th century Oakland neighborhood."

The houses at Preservation Park now serve as the offices for a variety of non-profit organizations, including the Always Dream Foundation (Kristi Yamaguchi's organization), the Before Columbus Foundation, The California Pan-Ethnic Health Network, the Green Purchasing Institute, the Kitka Vocal Ensemble, and the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir.
