It was still a little too early for cherry blossoms, but this beautiful flowering plum was in full bloom.
We didn't have much time to sightsee in Reno -- we were in town to visit family -- but I've made a list of places that I'd like to see and I hope we can go back soon. This is the last of my Reno holiday pictures, and I hope that you enjoyed your visit.
When I return to Reno, I'd like to visit:
-- the planetarium. The observatory is open to the public on clear nights!
-- the new art museum and the galleries in the downtown Arts District
-- the botanical garden
-- the wild animal park, where they take care of local wildlife who are not able to survive in the wild due to serious injuries or other problems
-- the Nevada Historical Museum
-- the Magic Underground. I'll bet that the venue as well as the shows are cool!
-- there's an interesting theater in the arts district, where they have neon art on display in the windows and they specialize in "new independent theater"
-- the University of Nevada, Reno, especially when school is in session. There are always movies, concerts, gallery shows, lectures, and tours, and many of them are cheap or free of charge
When I run out of things to do, I can always do a little "cultural anthropology" at the casinos! :-)
