Visiting the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, Washington --- #10-3 of 10-5
Sunday, July 18, 2010
We ended our day by heading back to Seattle for a visit to the Olympic Sculpture Park. This was a former industrial site, and it became part of a brownfield development project. The park features a salmon habitat with native plantings, public gardens, and there are public artworks throughout the park.
This is "Seattle Cloud Cover" (2004-2006), a bridge that was built by Teresita Fernández. The work features saturated color photographs sandwiched between panes of glass, and visitors can use the walkway to cross over the railway below.
It's hard to tell where the photographs end and the real city begins!
