The weather was nice on Sunday, so we decided to pay a visit to the shoreline park.
This area had been filled in during the 1980s, but a cooperative effort by several environment groups lead to efforts to restore the marsh and reclaim the land for wildlife. This particular section of the park was completed in 1998, and the project restored the tidal flow to these wetlands.
The animals have started to return to the reclaimed land, and we saw a lot of ground squirrels --- #1 of 3.
I kept wishing that I had a proper zoom lens! | |
