Blooming now: the early Ceanothus shrubs and trees, including this Santa Barbara Ceanothus

(C. Impressus cv. Vandenberg, Santa Barbara County, California)

Ceanothus flowers can range in color from white through sky blue, darker blue, and violet. This variety's bright violet flowers really caught my eye!
