Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park --- #5 of 5

The city of Chico was founded by John Bidwell, who settled in the area in 1843. John and his wife, Annie, lived in this beautiful mansion, which served as a social and cultural center.

The mansion's gardens feature some fine old specimen trees. Normally, I wouldn't post a photo like this, with a tree blocking the view of the mansion, but this is such a beautiful and beloved tree!

That's just an hour from us lol
We went down there last year and checked it out thru the windows. I didn't want to risk taking all the kids in there alone with me lol
