After months of planning, designing, looking for materials and stores over the world, I have finally brought the GT40 version of the Gilera DNA to it's final stages.
Apart from a few decals and replacement parts, the machine is as good as ready! We took it out for a spin in the bad weather hoping that we would catch a few sunrays and we did.
I was glad to have my complete rainclothing for the shorter rides on because inbetween the rain showers I was just sitting on my bike in the rain waiting for it to pass over. While a friend of mine was sitting comfortably in his car :)
Yesterday I got the wheels back and fitted them under, I washed the bike and put the number decals and tankpad on. This last one has to be photographed in detail later on when the weather is better.
After that I put the entire machine in Turtle wax and today... well, it's all dirty again. But that's Holland.
We took some photos in the rain but they didn't really work out. Also because I programmed some automatic settings in the camera so he could use it without learning too much but seeing it afterwards it's really no option; photographing in automatic settings ruins all the colors and sharpness.
This was the yellow Gilera DNA that I converted into the colors of the old Ford GT40 "Le mans" version. The only 50cc version in the world, with these fine details and dedication!
