errr... this is not your regular wide angle lens. 10mm is the shortest I know (at least affordable at 700,-- euro)
It is definatly ultra-wide. I might not always take up 10mm exactly but I think you're missing a reference like trees or surroundings. Trying to do this with an automatic will put you up with a lot of photostitches :P
You can learn a lot from this part and the addendum. It's what everyone in the world should at least have seen once in his/her life. Just to be informed, what you do with it is your choise.

Well you can start from the beginning but you need to prepare for the same time that you are watching a movie. If it's hard to understand you'd best find a version that supports a subtitling that you can understand well, k :)
