I thought that was cool as well. They could have made the spokes straight and purely functional but chose not to. Thanks for visiting and for all your comments!! My wife is from Michigan and I am from Indiana, both in California for the last 30+ years.

Indeed, we lived in San Jose from 1970 until 1982. My wife went to high school there and our oldest son graduated from SJSU! How about that! :-))

Uh... I actually lived and worked in Sunnyvale, but when I say that, nobody knows where it is. I was stationed at Onizuka Air Force Station (formerly Sunnyvale AFS) and lived in Milpitas and then at Moffett Field.

I know the area well! I was a ups driver in the 70's and Mt View and Sunnyvale were the main routes I delivered. It has certainly changed since then...
