I still want to find a way to get to the eagle nesting grounds only 45 or so miles from my house - there are supposed to be around 500 mating pairs that nest here annually!!!

Did you go up and print your name on that branch before or while the Eagle was there? :-) Bald Eagles are so iconic, it's hard to believe it's real when you see one in the wild. Wish I could get up to the Klamath Basin to see them this year, but I'm afraid that's not in the cards.

Bill, do it if you can! We have an area like that near Alturas. Also a wintereing ground for as many as 5000 eagles. It is cold there so we have not made the winter trek as of yet!!

The bird kept pecking at my hand while I was painting my name on the branch! Worth it though!!
