I know us crazy Americans just can't get it right with your language so we kind of made our own. Sort of like English but not quite, :-)) We still may call a part of the yard a garden, but the general grass area and borders just become "the yard". What can I say??
Oh, no. Our patio is a concrete area that is next to the house, if it is made of wood, called a deck. And we wnoder why it is so hard for people to learn English/////
Yes the concrete areas are now called patios instead of yards. But people like to pave the patio/yard areas to make them look posher!!!! And we do have decking areas - usually raised. Christ now even I am confused. And they do say English is the hardest language to learn - I should know I have never fully mastered it - like the majority of the English people lol.
