Okay all of you bug people, help us out! Denise saw this guy fly in but didn;t have her camera in hand. :-(( Her pics would have been better, but hopefully someone can tell us what it is. Appears to be a beetle of some kind, but what are those weird looking paddle antennae? HELP!

Well after searching the net for an hour and a half I finally found this beetle. It is called a Polyphylla decemlineata. It belongs to the Scarab, Stag and Bess Beetle family.

In other words it is a ten lined June Beetle! Phew!!!!!!!!

Now you have made me work Doug - I am going to bed. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz time for me!

Lizzie, thanks for being our research assistant! I was being lazy and thought someone out there might recognize the bug. I appreciate all your hard work! It is weird, we have seen two big beetles in the yard this week but not prior. Beetle migration?? Very odd.
