To buy a book, a person needed a green or yellow wristband. As the night wore on, people got wristbands numbered as high as the 1800's and were waiting in the upper level of the store. Add to that to the number of people who had pre-ordered the book and were waiting on the lower level, and at least 3,000 people were inside the store (A CP news story reported that 5,000 people were at the party, though I don't know if that number is people inside the store or the combined total of people in the store and on the street). And yes, plenty of people showed up in costume. | |
