Curves's Fotothing

Thanks for posting this. It is beautiful as is so much of Cory's work. My thoughts are with you Jan. I will carry memories of Cory's kindness, generosity, talent, humour and his essence with me for the rest of my life. He was truly a great human being.

Jan- I am soooo sorry for your loss. Just from knowing him here at Fotothing I could see that he was a gentle soul and a great man. Thank you for posting this last entry- even if it is an online , impersonal website, I am sure he wanted you to know how much you meant to him (if even in just a photo way of showing it).

Jan I'm so glad you posted this beautiful work. So typical of his spirit which will live o in many of us.

You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.

This simple thought is how I will always remember Cory. He created so much happiness in his lifetime that the truly remarkable part about him is he freely shared it with us all. I will miss his imagination, creativity, wit and genius but I will always celebrate the gift of happiness and life he brought to us.

Please take care Jan and never forget you always have this extended family.

What a brilliant and beautiful send-off! He was truly a man of tremendous spirit and magnanimity, and though he may be gone physically, somehow I feel his presence, even though I never met him in person. You are in my thoughts, Jan. We are fortunate to have known him in our respective ways.

Thank you so much for psting this. I always enjoyed Corys work, and the witty captions would keep me thinking. It was a true pleasure to have him as a friend.

Thankyou for sharing this Jan. I was so impressed by Cory's generosity and humour - he was a real 'gentle-man'. I shall treasure his little box - I was very touched that someone should want to send a handmade present to someone he'd never met! But I've been pleasantly suprised by how you can get to know people on this site without even having to meet them. No-one is out to impress - they just slowly reveal their characters by their pictures and comments.
I do and shall think of 'Curves' whenever I see beautifully shaped and twisted trees on the hills round here - and I think that is the best compliment I can pay him...
Last summer the pottery wall plaque Cory sent me blew off the wall in a storm and broke - If I was superstitious perhaps I'd have seen this as an omen...

Many thanks for making us this moving gesture. Community arises everywhere the software makes it possible, and we need community everywhere. Cory gave so much to us, and he will always be an inspiration to me.

I didn't know. I am hoping that his magic is with you always. No doubt it is, he was that kinda guy...
I am one of the fortunate ones...I actually got to meet both Cory and you at the Pink Palace Craft fair a few times...It was Cory who turned me on to fotothing, something i will always be greatful to him for...
and then there is the box...and the box he made for one of my best friends when he got married. to say he is a generous soul is an understatement. i ventured out here to the end of the aleutian peninsula of alaska with just a few belongings....and of course "the box" was one of them....
when i remember him it's about his energy and that sly smile he would get when he shot pics of my spiders and snakes....it always made ME smile.
the world is a better place because of him. you are so lucky to have had him in your life.

All I knew of him was his work and comments here on Fotothing, but that seems to have been enough to make me miss him very much. I wish I'd known more.

Although I didn't know Cory in a physical sense, I do feel that I got to know him very well over the past few years. He said that I was the first one to reach out to him on Fotothing. He was so funny, kind, generous and talented - I will surely miss the banter with him. I was so hoping to meet you guys at some point.

I'm so sorry to hear of this. Add my life to the list of those he touched. We have a box and a puzzle he made. I made the "curves" postcard in silver and blue and a couple of tapes for him.

We knew how much you meant to him but how lovely and how typical of the man to put it in writing. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Jan. It is so very special - but then, so was he.

What can I add, except to say how typical this is of this most amazing man who managed to touch so many, so deeply - and yet at such a distance. What a special personality it takes to do that.

You already know he will be missed by so many people here - all those above and many more. Just as PennyLane says, we were so hoping there would come a way to meet both of you at some point.

Might I ask that you keep this page alive, and if and when you find the time and inclination, let us know how YOU are doing. I am certain not one of us will ever delete "Curves" from our Fotothing Friends! His love for you shone through everything he created, photographed and wrote. You were so incredibly special to him, and I'm sure we'd all like to know how you are.

I'm so sorry for your loss Jan. Curves was such a great friend and artist. And all I sent him was a coconut from Moloka`i. I'm sorry I neglected Fotothing and our friendship these last few months. Somehow I thought he'd always be here. I suppose his art on Fotothing will... as long as the site endures.

Oh Jan, I am so sorry for your loss, and ours. So much was added to all our lives by "Curves". I have not been around much of late, and my heart aches for you as I read this this morning. Fotothing, especially curves's site, never made me cry before. Now I can hardly stop. He was such a blend of humor and artistry. What a sense of design and color that went into his minature tableaus. Who else could find art in a jawbone? But I think my favorite postings were those of poor danger mouse being tormented. So many miss him. I join in offering my deepest sympathies to you, Jan.

not sure why, but these lyrics from Melissa Manchester came to mind when I revisited this shot. Every time I look at my wonderful puzzle box (which is daily!) I think of you and your generous spirit.
I will always be thankful for having met you and Jan.

I miss him. I haven't been to this site in a long time. He sent us some rhizomes from some beautiful bearded iris plants which we planted in the back yard. He called them his "dirt girls." We call that part of the yard the Curves Garden. Next spring I'll post pictures when they come up again.
He lives in the memories of so many of us. We were the lucky ones.

OMG my hair are standing. I just learned this just this afternoon. Miss you Curves.

My souvenir and connection with you aside from the photographs is a wooden puzzle with photo which you made.
