Thank you. I slowed the shutter speed down to 1/40. I opted for no flash and let the fire be the light. I tried various angles but this was a bit difficult for me. I was in the line of fire and worried that I would get burnt or damage my camera.
My son and boyfriend really like to do this every once in a while. We just prefer to wait for colder nights. Its fine grade steel wool tied to the end of a wire. It is very flammable so we just light it up and twirl it around like sparklers (fireworks). We used to have an enormous yard to do this in but it has been harder to find a safe place to do this here. I think I might try having them attempt two wires next time.
