As we were in the area, Mike took me to Bekonscot Model Village which is located in Beaconsfield.

Buildings at Bekonscot - Noddy at the front door of "Green Hedges", the house that the children's author Enid Blyton lived in in Beaconsfield for many years.

How many of us grew up reading her books - I know that I did but am now aware that there was a difference between her skill as an author and her ability to be a good mother. She also told stories about her domestic life that were not true or distorted.

One of the stories is about her dog "Bobs" who kept on having adventures reported as reality to children for several years after he died.
