Brussels – Galgenberg or Mount with the Brackets - Law courts
To obtain this sight on Brussels, it is necessary to be on a height. This hill of Brussels is called the "Galgenberg" or "Mount with the brackets". It is besides in this place that, at the Middle Ages, one applied the capital executions. One even tells that, André Vésale, living not far from there, ventured there the night to conceal the corpses of condemned to carry out his anatomical experiments.
Curiously, on this hill, one built the Law courts, whose first stone was posed in 1866.
On the photograph, with before plan, the Poelaert Place and the monument with the glory of the soldiers of the Infantry of the two wars. The building in the foreground is also a building of justice and the large artery is the street of the Regency, which leads us to the “Place des Palais” and the Parliament
