Savannah- Mrs. Eleanor "Marjorie" Sharpe Bacon, 70, died on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at St. Joseph's Candler Hospital after a sudden illness. Mrs. Bacon was employed by Smoak Financial Advisors for 15 years with her daughter Paula Smoak and her granddaughter Kristen Smith. She was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Martha Mary Chapter of Eastern Star and the Secretary for the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Bacon grew up and attended school in the Richmond Hill Community. After graduating high school, she married and resided in Savannah. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Robert and Pauline Sharpe, husband, Charles "Bill" Bacon Sr., grandson, Timothy Hale Jr. and son-in-law, Gibson Smoak. Survivors include: two sons, Charles Bacon Jr. and Peyton Bacon Sr. of Savannah; three daughters, Paula Smoak of Savannah; Teresa Hale and husband Timothy Hale Sr., and Robin Thompson and husband James Thompson Jr. of Mississippi; two sisters, BethAnne Starling and husband Edward Starling of Richmond Hill; Sue Collins and husband Jon Collins of Hinesville; one brother, Robert Sharpe and wife Karen Sharpe of Richmond Hill; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the Chapel of Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home.
