Savannah, Chatham Co., GA, U.S.A. - Eddie Jack Shuman, 79, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at his home in Savannah. Jack was born in Statesboro, GA, the oldest of six children. He moved to Savannah in the mid-1930's and resided here until he joined the United States Navy toward the end of World War II. Following his tour of duty he met and married Edna Anderson of Petersburg, VA, where their two sons were born, Rick and Ronnie. The family moved to Savannah in 1969. Jack was an electrician by trade, retiring in 1989. He was a long time member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and attended Windsor Forest Baptist Church. Mr. Shuman is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Edna Shuman; his son and family, Major Rick Shuman (USAF Res), daughter-in-law, Michelle and grandchildren, Christopher and Nicole; sisters, Jeanette Farrar and Margie Cummings of Chester, VA and Linda Lott of Statesboro; brother, Mike Shuman of Savannah and numerous brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and hiswonderful friends at Windsor Forest Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Ronnie and his brother, Jimmy. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Drive. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Windsor Forest Baptist Church with Rev. Rick West officiating. Burial: Private.
