Bobbitt's Fotothing PhotoBlog InfoThing: Lamar V. Bobbitt USNR has been promoted to Chief Pharmacist's Mate aboard the USS Oneida somewhere in the South Pacific. Chief Bobbitt entered the Navy in August of 1942 and was stationed for two years at the Fort Sumter Hotel, Charleston, S.C., headquaters of the sixth Naval District. He received twelve weeks training at Portsmouth, Virginia, before being sent to San Francisco, Calif. to await the Commissioning of the Oneida (APA-221).
