Savannah, GA -James "J.C." Lowery, Sr., 84, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007 under the care of Hospice Savannah, Inc. Mr. Lowery was born in Dublin, GA in 1922, the son of the late Melton and Ruby Lowery. "J.C." moved to Savannah in 1941. He was retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad and was the owner and operator of J.C. Lowery Motor Co. He was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church. He was the Past President of the Savannah Independent Automobile Dealers Association, Past Board Member of the State Independent Dealers Association and Past President of the State of Georgia, FFA-FHA. "J.C." was a past member of the Savannah Executives Club, the Retired Railroaders Club of Savannah and past member of The Optimist Club. He was also a member of Acacia Lodge #452, F.&A.M.'s, The Scottish Rite Consistory-Valley of Savannah and the Alee Shrine. Mr. Lowery is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Mary Catherine Lowery; one son; one daughter; brother, A.J. Lowery; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel of Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Terry L. Johnson officiating.
