Bobbitt's Fotothing PhotoBlog Infothing: 148th Forward Support Battalion Fallen Soldiers Remembered. Just one day after the announcement that the 48th Brigade will return to the combat zone, members of the 148th Support Battalion get ready to unveil a memorial for three soldiers who died fighting in Iraq. Sergeants Philip Dodson, Marcus Futrell, and Philip Travis died in a Humvee accident in December 2005 in Iraq. They worked with the 148th Support Battalion out of Forsyth, a unit of the Macon-based 48th Brigade of the Georgia National Guard. The unveiling of the memorial was Sunday morning (December 9, 2007) at 10 a.m. at the Forsyth Armory on Country Club Road. [13wmaz.com].
