Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, U.S.A. - Thelma Inell Jernigan Clark, 90, of Savannah, died Sunday, Jan 28, 2007 at her residence, under the care of Hospice Savannah, Inc., surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wrightsville, Ga and was preceded in death by her husband, David Foy Clark, and a sister, Lutrell Snedeker of Mobile, Ala; and her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bruce L. Jernigan, Sr, She was a veteran of WW II, having served in the US Army, with the WAC's, a member of Silk Hope Baptist Church, the Fidelis Sunday School Class, a Charter Member of the Women's War Memorial, and she helped to found the 7th District Fire Department along with her late husband. She also took up names in order that they could get Gould School started. She worked as a photographer for Rich's Studio and Tulle Myron Studio. She is survived by a daughter and son in law, Dell & Tommy Cone, of Savannah, Ga., a brother, Bruce L. Jernigan, Jr., Savannah, Ga; 2 sisters, Loretta Bader, Peoria, Illinois; and Glory & Bob Smith of Camden, SC; a grandchild, Ashley & Levy Bacon of Liberty County, Ga; Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Fairhaven Funeral Home with Dr. Dusty Reynolds and Dr. Donnie C. Brannen, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
