Washington, DC- Mrs. Joyce Jenkins 58, departed this life on Monday August 14, 2006 at her residence. A native of Hardeeville, SC she attended the Jasper County Public Schools. She was a retired federal employee of the United States Soldiers and Airmen Home of Washington DC. She was a member of St Stephen AME church in her early years and later united in fellowship with First Baptist Church, Washington, DC. Survivors are daughter, Marcenia R. Jenkins; two grandchildren, Michael and Aaliyah Jenkins all of Washington DC; mother, Jenell Washington, Hardeeville, SC; five sisters, Mary E. (Eugene) Hampton, Hyattsville, MD, Sandra Laverne (Clifton) Moore, Houston, TX, Betty (Albert) Thomas, Ocala, FL; Deborah (Charles) Ferguson, Hardeeville, SC and Carolyn (William) Coleman, Laurel, MD; two brothers, Owens Jenkins Jr. Houston TX, and Randolph Jenkins, Washington, DC; uncles, William (Dionne) Bush, Washington DC, Johnny (Wilhelmina) Bush, Hardeeville, SC and Willie Shark, Ritter, SC; aunts Cenella E. Brinson, Hardeeville, SC, Johnnie Mae Dopson, Bluffton SC; Anne (James) Doar, Camp Springs MD, Addie (Willie) Jones, Sanford FL, Margret Primus, Elizabeth (Melvin) Taylor and Frances Jenkins, Hardeeville, SC. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. from the St. Stephen A.M.E. Church, Hardeeville, SC. Rev. Thomas McClary officiating.
