Mary Elizabeth Collins Wettach - Savannah - Mary Elizabeth Collins Wettach, 54, of Savannah, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 16, 2006 with courage and dignity. Her sense of humor and devout faith were never overshadowed throughout her gallant battle with cancer. Mary was born on August 18, 1951 in Savannah and was a graduate of Herschel V. Jenkins High School. She was currently employed by One Source Manufacturing. Mary spent 15 years employed by Volvo of Savannah. Many people were blessed by Mary's music ministry. Beginning in the late 1960's, she performed vocals for a group known as the Glorylanders. This continued for several years. She served as the Financial Secretary at Christian Fellowship Church for approximately 25 years where her father pastored. While being a devoted member, she continued with hymn mantras - solo or with others, she would fill the request. Mary truly loved gospel singing Upon the retirement of her father and closing of the church, Mary found a new church home at Lifespring Worship Center in Bloomingdale. Family was the greatest love of Mary's life. She was a gentle, peaceful lady yet had a powerful presence and great enthusiasm for life. She was a joy to know and love, and her family and friends will miss her endearing and pleasant personality. Mary was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Cecil and Hazel Booth, and paternal grandparents, Clarence and Hallie Collins. She is survived by her parents, Edward and Gloria Collins; two sons and daughter in law, Bryan Bowen of Savannah, and Anthony and Angela Bowen of Homer; grandson, Justin Bowen, and granddaughter, Jaycie Bowen, both of Homer; three brothers and sisters in law, Martin and Jenny Collins, Michael and Cindy Collins of Rincon, and Russell and Shawn Collins; one sister, Dana Michelle Stacey; four nieces; seven nephews, five great nephews; two great nieces; many aunts, uncles and cousins; her long time best friend, Patti West and a host of other friends that loved her. Mary was affectionately known as "May Me Me" by her grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kristopher Collins, Ryan A. Collins, Ryan M. Collins, Brent Collins, Brandon Collins and Chase Collins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Bowen, Vernon Hendrix, Frank Joseph, Jordan Collins, Joshua Stacey and James O'Connor. Visitation: 2-4 and 6- 8 p.m. Sunday, Mar 19, 2006 at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Mar 20, 2006 in the Chapel of the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, with Rev. Julie Stanley, officiating. Graveside Services: 2:30 p.m. Monday, Mar 20, 2006 at Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins, Georgia.
