Springfield - Jesus took his angel, Chance Gregory Bishop, six months old, on January 13, 2007 at Memorial Health. The Effingham County native had a rare disease, Menkes Kinky Hair Copper Syndrome. He had attended Southland Baptist Church and Elam-Egypt Baptist Church. Survivors: Parents, Derick and Rachel Bishop of Springfield; two brothers, Derick Lee Bishop, Jr. of Springfield and Cameron Ashton Lee of Beaufort, SC; sister, Summer Lynn Bishop of Springfield; paternal grandparents, Melvin and Traci Bishop of Springfield, and Barbara and George Brooks of Concord, NC; maternal grandmother, Veronica Lee of Springfield; paternal great -grandmother, Vicki Lang of Chimney Rock, NC; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation: 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the funeral home. Funeral: 3 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2007 at First Christian Church of Rincon. The Rev. Eugene Wiggins, Rev. Paul Moore, and Rev. Bill Allen will officiate. Pallbearers: Adam Jones, Ricky Bragg, Mikie Wells, and Van Findley. Interment: Effingham Memorial Gardens. Remembrances: Menkes Kinky Hair Copper Syndrome, National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD.
