The Reverend John William Bobbitt - Author of "The Bobbitt Family In America" - My father was Samuel McClung Bobbitt who died when I was 13 and at an age when I needed him most. I had a great sister who is deceased, Jean Bobbitt Dunn, and a very likeable brother [Samuel Newlon Bobbitt, born Oct. 18, 1918] who will be 86 this month. [Letter received from John, October 12, 2003] My life has been a simple life. I spent many years in a monastery and seminary, left to enter the printing business and worked for three large companies as a materials manager, purchasing agent, and paper buyer. After I retired, I went back to school to study to become an ordained deacon and worked with others for the first twelve years of my retired life. You have made me realize that the best work I have done over the years and one I can be proud of is the Bobbitt book. I appreciate the color picture you have placed of me in the book, coat of arms in color, and your very fine tribute to me from you and your family members. | |
