Savannah - Robert Franklin Allen, 73, died May 18, 2006 at Tara at Thunderbolt Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born in Savannah and was a 1953 graduate of Commercial High School. He served in the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge in 1961. Mr. Allen retired after 37 years from National Gypsum Company. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Savannah Legionnaires, John Birch Society and a life member of the Marine Corps League Detachment 564. Surviving are his brother, William Griffin Allen, Sr. of Carrollton, GA and three nieces and four nephews. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home.
