This Baldie is probably a second year bird. Young Golden and Bald headed eagles are hard to tell apart, I confirmed this ones id by the underside wing pattern The pattern of the white underwings extending into the 'wing pits' was a dead give-away. Young Golden's can have a white patches on their wings, but the patches are near the end of the wings. Their 'wing pits' are always dark. Taken on the Bow River in Calgary ,Alberta ,Canada . Merry Christmas fellow shutterbugs.
